In Australia, compulsory superannuation has been the single most important factor mitigating wealth inequality in over 20 years. The Super Cadets Program is committed to furthering this achievement. The Super Cadets Program is coordinated by the Australian Institute of Superannuation Trustees (AIST) and is jointly supported by the Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU) and the Australian Industry Group (Ai Group). Super Cadets aims to enable idealistic and motivated people who genuinely want to "make a difference" through improving the quality of retirement for working Australians and their families, to meet the ongoing and future challenges facing the not-for-profit superannuation sector. In 2006, there were twenty-seven participants in the Super Cadets Program, representing nineteen industry and public sector funds, and partner organisations in the not-for-profit superannuation network. The 2006 Super Cadets were based in Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra and Sydney. Read the attached article about Super Cadets
